Bonded ADSL

ADSL ‘bonding’ uses two or more Internet connections from a dedicated bonded ISP, connected through a bonding device such as an Internet Load Balancing Router with bonding functionality. The device breaks down both inbound and outbound data flow into packets and distributes this transmission across all available connections.

There is an important distinction between load balancing and bonding (actually tieing the lines together).  Up to four standard broadband ADSL connections can be ‘bonded’ or tied together to provide a single managed connection with the total combined bandwidth of those connections.

Bonded ADSL offers the following benefits:
  • Fast Upload
Upload bandwidth up to 6 Mbps
  • Fast Download
Download bandwidth up to 24 Mbps
  • Fast Time to Provision
Days instead of weeks or months for an engineered circuit
  • Proactive Support
    Monitored 24x7x365 and remotely managed
  • High Quality Equipment
Secure Linux router included as standard
  • Extensive Coverage
    Available in BC and Alberta

This service is ideal for locations where other high speed services are not available or as a credible alternative to replace leased lines.   It is also a more affordable solution than installing a 10mbps fibre connection.

Although it is possible that if one connection fails, the others may remain functional, this cannot be guaranteed. Suitable additions to the supplied equipment are available to facilitate more robust failover provisions.

Failover is the capability to switch over to a redundant or standby computer system, network or connection upon the failure of the previously active system, network or connection.

Unimaxx’s ADSL bonding solution uses a variety of IP layer and virtual tunnelling protocols in our bonded ADSL network creating multi path network links back to our core datacenter infrastructure.
